The Perioral Area by Dr Ruth Brady
The Perioral Area
The perioral is the area of skin directly adjacent to and around the vermillion border of the lips, situated between the nasolabial and marionette folds. On younger people it is plump and well supported by fat under the skin, but it becomes thinner and less projected with age. Deterioration of the skin in this area is a common sign of aging. Radiating lines start appearing perpendicularly from the lips, frequently called ‘smokers’ lines’.
